Attending the International Scholar Laureate Program (ISLP) has definitely been a highlight in 2010 for Khanya Matshikwe from the University of Cape Town. Khanya served on the UCT Golden Key chapter as the Social Events Officer for 2010.
According to Khanya : "This programme was an absolutely amazing opportunity to network, learn and have fun. Starting in Washington DC, I have a new found appreciation for American history, just because of how patriotic the people are and how much they make sure that it is not forgotten. Experiencing the campus life on foreign soil was interesting as well…the common thread is that we all love to have a good time, whilst trying to figure out what to do with our lives. Visiting U-Street, the Capitol and the White House are some highlights from Washington. The next stop was New York City and all I can say about this place is Time Square, NASDAQ and shopping. Learning about business and social entrepreneurship has never quite been this real and diverse and interesting. I can truly say that the International Scholar Laureate Program fits right into my “Top 3 Best Conferences” ever attended. As I came away not only with knowledge and contacts but with friends all over the world. This was 8 days of learning, fun and exploration".
